Whether performing solo, acoustic duo, or as a complete Power Trio, PolyChrome in their many forms are as multifarious as the music they perform. The band complements their original blend of melodic groove-infused rock with a live show filled with song selections that entertain audiences from young to young-at-heart. PolyChrome, formed in 2009 in the Southwest Virginia, have created a loyal following in their hometown of Roanoke, been voted "Best Band 2012" by Clear Channel Radio listeners, awarded the "Silver Award" by readers of The Roanoker Magazine for 2012 as "Favorite Band", as well as THE ROANOKE TIMES and CITY MAGAZINE'S "BEST LOCAL BAND", and have been featured on several television and radio programs in the SWVA Valley. The band have performed over 450 shows during their time together, earning the title "The Hardest Working Pop/Rock Trio"!

I guess I really need to update the content on this page more often! 2011 has already been fun for PolyChrome.
We kicked off the year with a performance at The Jefferson Center for the Roanoke Times/101.5FM Music Place concert. It was a great experience to perform in front of a well educated music crowd, plus we met some great people and heard some great music from Frantic Recovery and The Music Lab's own Suite 325.
We've performed 25 times in 10 different cities during the first two months of the year!
Most recently, we need your help.
We have been nominated as one of 5 finalists in a radio contest to perform at The Roanoke Civic Center opening this year's Blue Ridge Bike Fest.
Vote for our song "Pull Me Under" at the following link:
WOW! Thank you for the tremendous support and all the voting!
PolyChrome was very well represented in this year's Roanoke Times Music Poll (in the Saturday edition 12/11/10)
The band was recognized in the following categories:
Favorite Band (#1)
Favorite Album (#2)
Male Singer (#4)
Bass Guitar (#3)
Solo or Duo (Sean #2)

PolyChrome performed live today on Our Blue Ridge, an NBC program on WSLS Channel 10. We were able to perform TWO songs. The first, a brand new song titled "How Many", was posted by wsls.com and is up on our site under the "videos" tab. The audio version of this previously un-released song will be available for download soon! Stay tuned... - SB

THANK YOU ROANOKE, VA! PolyChrome was voted "BEST LOCAL BAND" in Roanoke's City Magazine for 2010! In this, just our first year as a band, we want to just say how awesome a year it has been! From our first few shows in front of 7 people wondering what they just stepped into, to our Festival in the Park experience opening for Sister Hazel, to taking over 103CIR FM radio station, playing whatever we wanted, and ultimately performing at Beckley's "Chili Night" with thousands of people in Beckley, WV., this has been a great ride! We look forward to 2011 and meeting as many of you as we can! Again, THANK YOU! - SB
Wow, it's been a while since anything was written here! We really suck at this "News" thing. The band is playing a TON and getting a lot of exposure in the SWVA area. We are working to create a tight live show that represents the music we love to perform and makes it entertaining for our friends from all walks of life. This week we have four shows in four different cities, each with its own niche group. From a Wednesday happy hour to a young professionals mixer, and then a lakefront spot, followed by our home away from home in Beckley, WV, this week is sure to test our abilities to blend in with any crowd! New songs, both original and others, have been added to the set in the past few weeks, and now the total acoustic/band catalog has reached 100 songs. With just about 50 performances remaining on the schedule for the last third of 2010, there is no doubt that each one will offer something different. Please feel free to introduce yourself the next time you come out. We look forward to seeing you! - SB
PolyChrome is rehearsing today to prepare for a wealth of events in July and August. With almost 40 performances scheduled over the next two months, we wanted to make sure to add some variety to the set list. In addition to some new original tunes, look for new PolyChrome "Original Covers" from Sublime, The Police, Bush, Weezer, Silversun Pickups, Kings of Leon, Offspring, Blink 182, 3 Doors Down, STP, and more!
Today we take time to remember the men and women who sacrificed their lives serving our country. Without their service we wouldn't be able to do what we do.
PolyChrome would like to thank EVERYONE for a tremendous weekend with TWO Festivals in Roanoke, VA and Beckley, WV, "sandwiched" by a great time at the Brambleton Deli! The turnout was better than expected (over 3,000 at Roanoke's Festival in the Park alone!), the people were wonderful, we made a lot of new friends, and we look forward to doing it again soon!
Please feel free to tag PolyChrome in any photos you have uploaded on facebook or myspace and we'll try to get them on this site!
Check the schedule page for upcoming shows and we look forward to seeing you out there soon!
It has been confirmed, we WILL have T-shirts and CDs available at our Festival in the Park performance! Event Zone expects over 6,000 people for this event and Saturday night is the biggest expectation. Join us for our set from 7pm-8pm on the main Festival Stage in Roanoke's Elmwood Park and follow us to the Brambleton Deli immediately after Sister Hazel performs for an encore PolyChrome performance!
PolyChrome is excited to bring on a new member, Mark Lynch, behind the drums. Mark brings a wealth of experience in many of the area's popular bands (and still performs on occasion with the 311 tribute band Mindspin). He is excited to perform live and will make his PolyChrome debut at Shaker's Valley View Thursday, May 27th.
We wish Obie well in his future endeavors and will support his music career wherever it may take him. We will keep you updated when we hear of him performing in the area.
PolyChrome is opening for Sister Hazel Saturday, May 29th at Roanoke's "Festival in the Park" at Elmwood Park. This is a 4-day event (from Fri - Mon) featuring Big Kenny from Big & Rich fame, Rodney Atkins, Chris Young, The Band Perry, as well as many other national and regional performers. PolyChrome will be on stage from 7:00 - 8:00 pm, immediately followed by Sister Hazel at 8:30pm.
Tickets are $10 at the gate or you can buy a $32 Festival EZ 4-Pass in advance at all area Kroger stores for admission to all events. Children 6 and under are free.
